Mr.Popcorn

Italian artist Mr. Popcorn is an anonymous contemporary artist whose work moves between urban intervention and gallery practice, exploring themes of identity, impermanence, and the symbolic weight of material culture.

Emerging from a background in street tagging, his artistic language developed through posters, paste-ups, and public interventions that have appeared across the streets of major cities worldwide. Known for the striking posters that populate urban landscapes, his work bridges the space between the street and the institutional art world, combining an ironic visual language with a philosophical reflection on contemporary society.

His work has been featured in international publications dedicated to urban and contemporary art, including Unmashed, Stickers!, and Theez Are Our Streetz, which document significant voices within the global street art movement.

Mr. Popcorn has participated in major international paste-up festivals, including BCN Up Fest in Barcelona and the London International Paste Up Festival. His works have also appeared in art auctions in Ibiza and in public exhibitions along the Champs-Élysées in Paris. Several of his works are included in the collection of the Pinacoteca di Arte Contemporanea di Teora, and in 2023 he participated in the exhibition celebrating the centenary of Maria Callas at Palazzo Visconti in Milan.

His exhibitions span internationally, with presentations across Europe, the United States, and Japan, including ZK Gallery in San Francisco, Bugno Gallery in Venice, and Oditto Gallery in Palm Beach. Among his notable gallery exhibitions, he held a solo show at the renowned Avantgarden Gallery in Milan, further establishing his presence within the contemporary art circuit. His most recent solo exhibition, Symbols, was presented at Galactic Panther Gallery in the United States in 2024.

Maintaining strict anonymity, the artist cultivates a deliberate distance from the public sphere. Even after his previous Instagram account—followed by more than 12,000 people—was unexpectedly shut down, the mystique surrounding Mr. Popcorn has only strengthened the fascination surrounding his work.

Based in Paris, Mr. Popcorn continues to develop a practice that exists simultaneously within the urban landscape and the international contemporary art scene, positioning his work at the intersection of street culture and contemporary art discourse.
